Another beloved DC comics character is finding their way to the small screen.

A Batwoman series is in development for the CW network according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The series will be just one the channel’s DC offering, joining the ranks of Supergirl, The Flash, Arrow and more.

Providing a well deserved dose of diversity, the character is also an out lesbian.

The show is set to be helmed by Greg Berlanti, who has been behind most of the CW Arrowverse, as it’s know to fans.

The series takes place in the same city of Gotham that Batman calls home and is lead by Kate Kane – an crimefighter with ‘a passion for social justice and flair for speaking her mind.’

The casting process has not yet started.

Of course, the series will need to be picked up from its pilot for it to last.

Vampire Diaries writer Caroline Dries will also join the production team along with executive producers Sarah Schechter and Geoff Johns.

This will be the first time the character has been depicted on screen ever.

Batwoman first appeared in print in the early days of Detective Comics but was later ditched, making her grand revival in 2006.

DC Comics is gearing up for the launch of their digital subscription platform next month.

The service will feature original series Titans and Doom Patrol in addition to others.
