Dov Tenenboim is a 33 year old duel Israeli-Australian citizen who is self-described as an “entrepreneur” and “elite hacker” from Sydney’s eastern suburbs.
He is accused of being the Australian head of an international Dark Web drug syndicate.
Which is further proof that the Silk Road saga still hasn’t ended, even after a half a decade after Ross Ulbricht’s arrest.
Adrian Chen of Gawker said about Ulbricht’s operation “..Silk Road was bigger than anyone had suspected: It boasted over $1.6 billion in sales from 2011-2013, which resulted in $80 million in commissions. ”
Dark Web is believed to be a bulletproof safe place for illicit activity; a devil’s playground and an unholy mecca for shadowy people that are not always necessarily “Black Hats” hackers, but Dark Web users see anonymity as paramount.
The Silk Road was a billion-dollar online Middle-Eastern themed drug bazaar and a narcotic free-for-all. The the site brokering more than $1 billion in transactions for illegal drugs, but the other 600 million provided other services such as computer hacking and the sale of fake IDs and passports. ( The still site exists, it has shutdown several times and is now called Silk Road 3.1.)
Ulbricht himself is alleged to have hired a hit man for $160,000 to kill a blackmailer who threatened to expose users of the site.
Fake passports, drugs and murder-for hire seems like a Mossad operation doesn’t it? Even before I began to talk about Tenenboim. But don’t worry our trusting MM would tell us if it was in fact that the Silk Road is a covert Israeli operation.
“Altoid” an anymous Silk Road customer said about the website “an anonymous amazon.com” in various forums. But two days after the post “Altoid” was later linked to Ulbricht’s Gmail address.
The Amazon of “Drugs” is a common slang term for the Silk Road, the website contains thousands of listings under categories like ‘Cannabis,’ ”Psychedelics’ and ‘Stimulants.’
Ross has described himself as a fan of libertarian economic philosophy and posted videos from the Ludwig von Mises Institute, an Auburn, Alabama-based economics institute on social media.
During his 2015 trial, Ross echoed his libertarian believes of being anonymous online and using drugs as a god given right to his Judge ‘I wanted to empower people to make choices in their lives and have privacy and anonymity.’
Users of the Silk Road when making transaction have a scrambled IP address , which affords significant protection to users, but ofcourse there is no 100% guarantee of an anonymous purchase.
“Feeling safer is actually one of the reason that people say they buy drugs online. Both the buyers and sellers are not worried about violence, there’s no potential for a Scarface moment,” Swinburne University’s Associate Professor James Martin told The Sun Herald.
Dark Webb users generally have a false sense of safety from law enforcement. “With a traditional arrest, police bust people as they are handing over the cash for their drugs, there is sometimes a weapon too. On the dark net, none of those things are in the same place – the dealers, the buyers, the drugs and the weapons are all separately located. It’s much more challenging for law enforcement.”
Australian police have alleged that Tenenboim was behind a complex scheme importing commercial quantities of cocaine, MDMA, and ketamine from Europe via the postal service’s, which customer’s buy online using the Tor Onion browser to reach which is known as internet’s underbelly known as the “dark web” to access Tenenboim’s product.
Tenenboim not only does he described himself as an “elite hacker” in binary code on his Facebook page, but brazenly boasts online of his luxurious travel, including business-class flights and trips across the globe.
Selling drugs on-line is not Tenenboim’s first criminal action.
11 years ago today, the The Daily Telegraph reported on June 8, 2007, that Tenenboim is said to have “hacked into more than 90 eBay accounts to sell imaginary goods”. He frauded Ebay and their customers who bought “Tenenboim’s bogus Apple iPods over four months”.
Now Tenenboim is back in the news, July 5th, 2018 on a Thursday morning a heavily armed (Strike Force ) police swamped Tenenboim’s Vaucluse apartment at 10.30am. Officers seized bitcoin worth $350,000 and $69,685 in cash suspected to be proceeds of crime, plus a diamond ring, mobile phones and computers. All those items were secured for forensic analysis.
Silk Road just happened to popularized bitcoin, bitcoin is perfectly suited for illicit transactions because bitcoin is said to be untrackable.
DailyMail reported on June 7, 2018
During the investigation, police seized over half a kilogram of cocaine, over five litres of liquid MDMA, over six kilograms of MDMA pills, over one kilogram of ketamine, over 800 grams of MDMA rock, and over half a kilogram of methylamphetamine.
The prohibited drugs have an estimated potential street value of more than $1.5 million dollars.
New South Wales Police claim they have been monitoring Tenenboim for five months as they suspected him of importing illicit drugs from Europe .
He was taken to Waverley Police Station and is facing charges with 45 counts relating to the alleged syndicate, alongside knowingly directing actions of a felony group, importing a business amount of border managed substance and supplying a prohibited drug.
Chaim Goldstein whom was arrested back in May, turns out to be not only Tenenboim’s synagogue buddy but business partner.
Goldstein has been charged with one count of supplying an indictable amount of a prohibited drug and two counts of supplying a commercial volume of a prohibited drug.

..alleged in court this week it was revealed that Tenenboim’s friend Chaim Goldstein, his classmate at the prestigious Moriah College, was involved as a partner in the international smuggling ring..
Goldstein is also known to brag on social media about his lavish lifestyle.
Both regularly flew in style to top international destinations, while Goldstein owned his own clothing business ‘Billycock’ before it folded in 2016.

The boutique denim company Billycock, produced a series of controversial video clips featuring people being murdered for their jeans.
How Chuck Barris-esque of you Goldsmith! Watching this clips made wish I had a Hammer N’ Sickle to Purge too.. Except for I’d go after the “Communist.”
..Goldstein’s online profile shows him at the Pier One Hotel, the Qantas first-class lounge and the Hilton Hotel in Tel Aviv at various times.

..He was charged with one count of suppling an indictable amount of a prohibited drug and two counts of supplying a commercial volume of a prohibited drug.
The self-described “broke dropkick” 33-year-old lives in an apartment just a moments’ stroll from Bondi Beach.
Ulbricht just so happened to be living in Bondi Beach while developing the Silk Road site, The Sunday Telegraph exclusively reveal.
Sally Rawsthorne reported about Goldsmith’s legal matters last week..
…On Wednesday, he wore a dark suit as he attended Waverley Local Court with his father to apply to vary the bail condition dictating that he report daily to the police station.
Magistrate Michael Barko refused the application for less onerous conditions, telling him he was “lucky to be walking the streets of Sydney”.
“If he’d been before me [for his first appearance], he wouldn’t have had bail.”
Goldstein will next appear at the Downing Centre on August 29 and Tenenboim is due before Waverley Local Court on August 8.
Tenenboim will remain behind bars until his next court appearance on August 8.
